Ian Holt - Ian joined the Adelaide Country Music Club at the very first meeting at the Torrens Football Club, within 15 months became Secretary, a position held for 7 years. He coordinated 2 major one day Festivals for the club and watched the membership grow to just over 600. Along with Peter Lewis, MP, Allan Cleggett, Chair SECMA Inc. instigated the S.A. Council for Country Music Inc. 1992/1993. Ian chaired the initial steering committee, with the result the Council was formulated and became an incorporated body. Ian has been a Corporate, Professional, Exec. Committee & Board member since inception and had a stint at Chairman of the Board of Governors Nov. 06 to April 09. In between, together with wife Ann-Marie, started up Open House Country at the Parafield Gardens Community Club which successfully ran for some 7 years from 2001. Over the last 17 years Ian has judged at the Talent Quests at all of the major C.M. Festivals in SA and organised the “Council’s” Champion of Champions for 3 years, 03 to 05. Ian has now retired from the building industry (well almost) to Laura SA where he is now actively involved with the Laura Folk Fair and still maintaining an interest in the “Council” as a Board member. |
